The O2 Brand Experience opens at London's The O2 on the site of the former Millennium Dome in Greenwich, UK. This collection of three interactive architectural installations welcomes visitors and provides environments for making videos, listening to music, and chilling out.

JPDA is partnering with neighborhood artist Arthur Wood, 75, to save the unique building known as Broken Angel in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. The building-cum-sculpture, located at 4 Downing Street, recently caught fire on October 10th and the Wood is facing imminent eviction by the New York City Department of Buildings.

JPDA is working to develop a strategic master plan to not only bring the building up to code, but to fully realize Mr. Wood’s dream to turn the site into a museum, atelier and vibrant cultural resource for the whole community.

The December 12-26, 2002 issue of Time Out New York features the JPDA / Melanie Crean collaboration Oculus. Writer Angela Gunn reports:

"Here in the city, kids are sprawling on the floor at Grand Central Terminal to gaze up as ... flocks of doves fly through an opening in the ceiling of the main concourse. Who needs nature – or hallucinogens – when you've got technology?" (p.253)

JPDA worked closely with New York-based projection experts Scharff Wiesberg who provided the installation's unique bleeding-edge Catalyst projection system. Peter Scharff reflects, "this kind of light show wasn't possible a year ago." Gunn comments:

"Oculus... looks less like a video installation than a painting."

Oculus, a Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture LLC and Melanie Crean collaborative art intervention, has been commissioned by Creative Time for installation at Grand Central Terminal in New York CIty.

The piece will use computer controlled projected video to dynamically activate the existing ceiling of the landmark station. Oculus will be on view from November 16th 2002 through the end of the year.
